Summer Activities for Students with Intellectual DisabilitiesGT:
Sharing from Georgia Tech - We are currently accepting applications for Excel’s inaugural Excel Summer Academy, a summer experience for high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities who aspire to go to college. Attendees will participate in activities representing key aspects of the college experience. Each day is theme-based and targets fundamental pillars of Excel: Academic, Social, Independent Living, and Career. Please see the attached flier for details, or visit http://www.scheller.gatech.edu/centers-initiatives/ile/excel/resources/summercamp.html. Selected students who have submitted applications will be invited to participate in a Summer Leadership Institute on the UGA Athens campus, from July 15th 2016 - July 17th 2016. Participation in the summer program is a pre-requisite to admission. Due to program limitations, not all of the students who participate in the summer program will be admitted into the Spring 2017 semester cohort of the Destination Dawgs program. A website for Destination Dawgs is in development and they hope to share that in the coming month or so. Please e-mail [email protected] if there are questions. |
