My name is June Reid and I have been an educator since 2002. I started my teaching career as a Special Education Teacher and for the past 10 years I have been the department chair and Special Education Instructional Specialist for LHS. As of January 2017 I have moved back into the classroom. I am a devoted parent of two beautiful girls, a college freshman and sophomore. I'm originally from NY, graduated from W.C. Mepham High School on Long Island, moved to Auburn, Al where I obtained my Bachelors degree. Since then I have obtained my masters in Justice and Public Safety and my educational specialist in Leadership.
I am also the teacher adviser for the Partners for Success club at LHS. Partners For Success is an organization that brings students with and without disabilities together and allows them to build relationships with one another. This organization allows students to come together and impact the community, enhance life skills, develop social skills, and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Their mission is to be an inclusive environment for all students. Students also volunteer for Special Olympics, Jingle Jog, Family fun day, as well as other Special Needs activities. Cost is $10.00 and you receive a T-shirt as a member of Partners for Success. I am also the coach For the Hot Shotz Cheer Leaders and Track & Field Coach (Throwers).
